On Marriage Equality

On Saturday, thousands of people from my beautiful home town, Canberra, attended a rally in support of Marriage Equality. Canberra is, and always has been, a progressive and open minded city; so it was nice to see everyone out and about sharing their love.

Marriage Equality means different things to different people, but for me it means seeing my brother and sister, both of whom are gay, treated as equals. I mean, I’m the straight one in the family and yet I’m the only one who isn’t in a loving, supporting and long term relationship.

I’ll be voting yes if this postal survey comes to pass; not just for my siblings, but also because it’s 2017 and basic human rights shouldn’t be a negotiation.

Yeah, I’m short okay?
